Poland Rocks!

I knew I would like Ulka! Having checked out her Facebook profile I could tell we had a lot in common. Horses and motorbikes being the two most obvious. I was not wrong. Ulka was my host in Krakow and she certainly knows how to host! Within hours of arriving she had me fed and watered and over to meet her horse (don't ask me to pronounce the name! I had trouble with Polish names). What a place! We had a lovely time at the stables and then shared a few beers back at her apartment before an early night ready for a ride out the next day that she had organised for me with some of the lads, nearly all of them riding MTs.

The road to Krakow

OK so the show is on the road! AT LAST!!

Rhonda and I have made it to Bruntel on the other side of Czech on day 5. Over 1000 miles travelled and very little drama to report so far!

Here is the route so far

Rhonda is doing really well. Even with the weight she is pulling well and sitting comfortably at 65. She will do more but trying to keep the speed down. The seat is not even bothering me despite long days in the saddle. Perhaps my own personal padding is keeping me from feeling the pain!

An Ace send off.

What a totally amazing day.  Thank you so much to all the lovely lovely bikers, friends and family who came to see me off and wish me well! WOW!!! Wasn't expecting that and I will never ever forget being on top of the Ace Cafe roof and seeing a sea of smiling faces looking back at me! Honestly!...No words to describe it. Thank you. Proud to be a biker xxx

See you on the road

Tomorrow is the day and for once I am a little lost for words. The last few days have been surreal! Of course they have. I am about to attempt to ride an overloaded top heavy 250cc motorbike around the world on my own. Not only that, I am going to try and sail it to Antarctica in 10 months time across rough seas on a small yacht! I don't even like being on the sea! In fact I get sea sick! Wont it be worth it though? What sights await me?

Yesterday I was interviewed live on Ozzie breakfast television, last week I was in the Sunday Times! Yes of course it's surreal! What did I expect? Actually I expected far worse nerves than I am feeling but it's not over yet!

The final preps

The final preps are happening now. I've even got down to the final items on the shopping list (toothpaste, Imodium!!) and I am beginning to get that dreaded feeling of forgetting something really important!

My X-lite helmet has been getting a make over and it should be back in the next few days courtesy of the guys at Artomise.co.uk.

I can't wait to see the final results. Phil puts a lot of work in to personalise your helmet. You can send your own design in or just ask him to do something funky!! I'm rubbish with design but between us we came up with something. I think I'm going to look like a super hero! Sadly in helmet only. No cape or super powers for me. More like Pinky and Brains...
"What are we going to do tonight Brains?"
"Same thing we do every night Pinky! Try to take over the World!!"
